Resources for Adoptive Parents

Here’s information on four organizations that can help you during or after the adoption process. From education to counseling to care, they provide a range of services and support for both children and families.

Adoption Support and Preservation (ASAP)

The Adoption Support and PreservationProgram (ASAP) helps adoptive parents succeed on every level. Its statewide system supports children and families with pre- and post-adoption services including:

Adoption preparation training

Crisis intervention

Counseling

Support groups

Relief team development

Parenting education

These services are available to Tennessee families who have adopted, are contemplating adoption, or have declared their intent to adopt through Tennessee’s Department of Children’s Services.

Any family residing in the state of Tennessee, at any stage of the adoption process, with an adopted child or children 18 years of age or younger, is eligible to participate for free. Families who have adopted privately or internationally may have to pay a fee for service.
