Ridgeview offers a school based, substance abuse prevention program that utilizes the Too Good for Drugs and Violence Program (TGFDV) and the Behavior Management Through Adventure (BMTA) program. The TGFG program is composed of 12, 1 hr. lessons and teaches students how to be socially competent and autonomous problem solvers. TGFDV focuses on developing personal and interpersonal skills to resist peer pressures, goal setting, decision making, bonding with others, and having respect for self.
Eligibility Requirements
This program is offered for students in the 7-12 grades in Anderson, Morgan, Campbell, Scott and Roane county schools. Referrals to the program may come from school staff, parents or the students themselves and each referral must meet criteria to be enrolled in the program.
