Violence & Bullying Prevention

The Violence and Bullying Prevention program helps children with skill enhancement in:

  • Empathy building
  • Resilience training
  • Impulse control
  • Decision making
  • Anger management

By teaching children to utilize those skills, the risk of children participating in violence or bullying is decreased.

The program is for children, ages 4-14, in grades 4-8, provided that the school they attend has the Violence and Bullying Prevention program.

How the program works:

Prevention Specialists are trained to reduce impulsive and aggressive behavior in children while increasing their level of social competence.

Specialists accomplish this through the use of Second Step. Second Step is a classroom- and evidence-based social skills program from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration.

Eligibility Requirements
