This program provides short-term, planned respite for families who have a child with emotional or behavioral issues. Through the program, parents and caregivers are supported in identifying and training longer-term respite providers and locating resources within the community.
Eligibility Requirements
This program serves parents/caregivers of children ages 2-15 who experience emotional or behavioral problems. Children who do not have a mental health diagnosis are eligible if they meet criteria on the Child Behavior Checklist, a questionnaire completed by the parent/caregiver.
Parents/caregivers who live in the counties listed may apply to enroll in the planned respite program. The caregiver(s) must request the service, as it is a voluntary program and requires parent/caregiver involvement and participation.
