The Student Assistance Program (SAP),an evidence-based prevention program, addresses social & emotional barriers, including substance use/misuse, violence and bullying. SAP assists students in achieving academic & social success by promoting healthy development, reducing hurdles to learning and building upon strengths. Proven to promote positive change in: Substance Abuse; Attitudes Toward Drugs; School Values; Social Attitudes & Social Bonding; & Rebellious & Violent Attitudes. SAP is school-based.

Eligibility Requirements

The STARS's Student Assistance Program is a school based program. Students may self-refer, be referred by teachers, administrators, school counselors, parents, or peers. There is no cost for our services; any student in any school that has a Student Assistance Counselor on site is eligible for services.
