We offer Truancy Prevention services to assist children and families in Lauderdale County by making sure all children ages 6-17 are attending school as required by law. Our Truancy Prevention Specialists help monitor children at risk due to neglect issues, medical issues, educational issues, and the like, and stand ready and willing to help at any time. We receive grant funding from the Department of Children's Services to provide these beneficial services.
Eligibility Requirements
Any person may make a referral to the Lauderdale County Juvenile Court for an investigation into believed truant issues of children ages 6 through age 17 residing in Lauderdale County. All children ages 6-17 are eligible to receive services through this program to address issues of why a child may not be attending school as required by state law.
