Head Start (HS)

The Head Start (HS) program is free preschool for children 3-5 years old from low-income families. Head Start programs follow the national Head Start Performance Standards that define high quality services in early childhood education, parent engagement, social services, nutrition and health. Head Start programs help children by providing comprehensive services that link high quality early education with families strengthened by parent education and ties to community services.
