21st Century Community Learning Centers Programs

21st Century Community Learning Centers provide students with opportunities for academic enrichment, youth development and family support during non-school hours (before/afterschool, summer). These centers provide a broad array of services, programs, and activities that are designed to reinforce and complement the regular academic program of participating students and may include: Tutoring, Arts & Music, Math & Science, Recreational and Drug & Violence Prevention programming.

Eligibility Requirements

Funds are awarded to programs that primarily serve students who attend schools with a high concentration of low income students. This is specifically defined as schools eligible for designation as a Title I school-wide program. To be eligible for this designation, at least 40% of the students must qualify to receive free or reduced-cost meals through the National School Lunch Program. Each center may have other eligibility requirements; we advise that you contact the center staff for specific requirements.
